The Jagiellonian University is one of the leading universities in Europe. The University’s wide academic offer creates opportunities of studying on 86 programmes, including 117 specialties. Nearly 4 thousand academic staff conduct research and provide education to over 40 thousand students on 16 faculties. It is the oldest higher education institution in Poland and one of the oldest in Europe: over 650 years of tradition is not only something to be proud of, but it also founds a commitment to maintain its highest standards. The workshops will aim at raising knowledge about the history of the Jagiellonian University and its remarkable place in the history of Poland. The program emphasises not only the tradition, but also its contemporary achievements. We offer a journey through time: beginning with the medieval times, throughout the modern transition processes, leading up to recent technologies. Through this initiative, we want to encourage the participants to improve their knowledge and get familiarized with historical characters, who have been creating the academic community over the centuries.
