Jagiellonian University Student Ambassadors

The Team of Student Ambassadors of the Jagiellonian University (Studencki Zespół Ambasadorów Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego) is a group of students from different countries, united by the idea to support international students at the beginning of their studies, including in matters of student life and adaptation in Krakow. These are students, who not a long time ago chose to study abroad themselves, and are now ready to share their experiences with you. 

Their main task is to provide support and information to international students at the beginning of their studies at the Jagiellonian University. Therefore their main  activities consists in:

  • Organisation of information meetings for international candidates,
  • Management of information pages in Social networks,
  • Organisation of meetings and consultations for international students who have been admitted for studies at the Jagiellonian University.

The team was established by the decision no. 19 of the Vice-Rector of the Jagiellonian University for Didactics on the appointment of the Team of Student Ambassadors of the Jagiellonian University of 20 April 2017.

The Team consists of representatives of international students studying at the Jagiellonian University, meeting at least one of the following criteria: they are holders of scholarships by the Polish government or other institutions, stand out in terms of academic results, actively participate in the activities of the Jagiellonian University Student Council, are involved in the activities of the Jagiellonian University science clubs, or conduct other activities for the benefit of the Jagiellonian University.

The number of Representatives of international students in the Team shall not exceed 16 persons. This was confirmed by the Vice-Rector of the Jagiellonian University for didactics at the request of the Team Coordinator.

Thanks to close cooperation with the International Students Office as well as the whole Centre for Academic Support and Student Affairs, which is located in the Department of the Vice-Rector of the Jagiellonian University for Didactics, the UJ Ambassadors Team can provide you with extensive support at the beginning of your studies. You can be certain that you will receive a quick and reliable answer to any question related to your studies at Jagiellonian University.

The organisation of informational and promotional meetings for potential candidates and their parents abroad is one of the most important tasks of the Team. Thanks to the commitment of the Ambassadors, 82 such meetings have been organized so far for students from Czech Cieszyn, Vilnius, Rezekne, Daugavpils, Riga, Lviv, Ternopil, Khmelnitsky, Kyiv, Dnipro and Zhovti Vody. Over a thousand high school students interested in studying at the Jagiellonian University have taken part in those meetings. The team also held official meetings with representatives of Polish organizations, school directors and public authorities of the cities visited in this context.
