The 659th academic year at the Jagiellonian University begins on 1st October 2022.

Its opening involves a traditional procession of the JU professors in their faculties' togas. At 11 a.m., a ceremony will be held at the Auditorium Maximum, including the matriculation of students who represent all the University's units and the presentation of congratulatory notes to the JU Rector’s Award 'Jagiellonian Laurel'. The inaugural lecture "Copernicus and imagination" will be delivered by Prof. Bartosz Brożek.
