Very Important Information Regarding the Legalisation of Stay in Poland

On 27 April 2026, the MOS system (Cases Handling Module) will be launched. From that date, applications for a temporary residence permit for the purpose of studies may be submitted exclusively in electronic form, via the MOS portal.

Submitting paper applications will only be possible until 26 April 2026.

If you plan to apply for a temporary residence permit for the purpose of studies, do not wait until the last day of your legal stay! Please note that in order to submit the application, you will need a PESEL number and a trusted profile (profil zaufany). Prepare well in advance.

Key procedural change: to submit an application for a temporary residence permit for the purpose of studies, you need an attachment that must be completed by the university.

When completing the application in the MOS system, you must provide the following Jagiellonian University email address: mos@uj.edu.pl (not for the Collegium Medicum students).

A special attachment will be sent to this address. The University is obliged to complete and sign it within 30 days. Only after the attachment has been signed will you receive an email stating: “The application can now be submitted”, and you will be able to submit your application. From the date of submitting the application, your stay will be legal.

Important: only the submission of the application is fully online. You will be required to appear in person at the request of the voivode to provide fingerprints and a specimen signature, present the original passport and documents, and—if necessary—submit any missing documents.
